Description
The present thesis work was performed in the framework of e+BOOST (Intense positron source Based On Oriented crySTals), a project to investigate the feasibility of a crystal-based positron source for future lepton colliders. The e+BOOST project aims at developing a hybrid (or two stage) crystal-based positron source, consisting of a crystalline radiator and an amorphous high-Z converter. The separation of the positron source setup in two different stages would allow to handle a better dissipation of both the heat and the radiation damage. The beamtest experiments covered the analysis of the photon yield enhancement across different crystalline samples, oriented along specific lattice planes and axes. The ultimate purpose was to evaluate the photon yield increase starting with 6 GeV electrons that interacted with the oriented crystals, as a function of the beam-to-lattice angle
