Description
The data used in this thesis are taken from the period LEP ran at centre-of-mass energies between 183 and 207 GeV. These data have been used to study the Forward- Backward asymmetry of b and c quarks through the process e + e~ — > Z0 /^ — >• qq. The asymmetry measurements showed no deviations from the Standard Model expectations as can be seen from the results of a x2 fit between the asymmetry results and the Standard Model values (A.4 AA b = -0.089 ± 0.076. FB &A CFB = -0.116 ±0.143. The results obtained are used to set limits on possible forms of contact interactions.
