Noise and Detection Efficiency Studies on Full-Size 2S Module Prototypes for the Phase-2 Upgrade of the CMS Experiment
Description
A test station has been developed to perform functional tests of fully assembled silicon detector modules for the Phase-2 CMS-outer tracker-upgrade. It is called Outer Tracker (OT) Module Test Station and was produced for all module assembly centers in the CMS tracker community. For a complete test of the module readout chain, the Karlsruhe Infrared Array (KIRA) was developed to generate charge in the silicon sensors. Extensive noise studies have been performed to improve the design of the electric components of the detector modules. The module performance has been intensively studied in several beamtests at DESY .
