The ATLAS Global Feature Extractor and a Measurement of Electroweak W Boson Production in Association with Jets in Proton-Proton Collisions Using the ATLAS Detector
Description
The development, commissioning, and operation of ATLAS Global Feature Extractor (gFEX) trigger system is presented. In addition, a measurement of electroweak W boson production in association with jets in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV using data collected by the ATLAS detector, corresponding to 139 fb$^{-1}$ is presented. A fiducial cross-section of $\sigma_{\rm fiducial}^{\rm EWKW} = 936 \pm 171 \rm (stat+syst) \pm 84 \rm (th.)$ fb for the electroweak W production processes in the $W\rightarrow\ell\nu$ channel is measured, where $\ell$ is either an electron or muon. This measurement is found to be in good agreement with the Standard Model prediction of $959 \pm 64 \rm (stat+syst) \pm 116 \rm (th.)$ fb, as given by the \texttt{Powheg} generator.
