Qualification of Silicon Sensors for the Phase-2 Upgrade of the CMS Outer Tracker
Description
Mass production of the silicon sensors for the Outer Tracker pT-modules has started in mid 2020 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024 with a total production quantity of roughly 28 000 sensors.The main part of this thesis is dedicated to the sensor quality control (SQC) during the mass production. Furthermore beam test measurements with Sensors with different design approaches regarding the pixel biasing structures were conducted at the DESY test beam facility in Hamburg. As readout chip, the Macro Pixel ASIC (MPA) was used.
