Determination of non-perturbative correction factors in jet production at the LHC using iterative methods

Description

Predictions for the measurements at the LHC come from Monte Carlo simulations. Some generators for them do not include the hadronisation and the detector effects so that their results can not be compared to measured data directly. Commonly those incomplete simulations are corrected for these effects with bin-by-bin unfolding. The idea in this work is to apply the technique of iterative unfolding to such simulations of jet production to describe the hadronisation. With the Sherpa event generator correlated simulations are created that are then analyzed in the Rivet framework. For the unfolding the RooUnfold library is used. For the validation of the performance and for the determination of the uncertainties of this method pseudoexperiments and a fake simulation are done.
